The Detroit Lions have revealed a new look ahead of the upcoming season with brand new uniforms and a slightly altered logo.
They have eliminated the black trim and have a new number font to match with the updated logo. Helmets also have striping down the middle and the facemask has been changed from black to chrome which is the base appearance of the helmet itself.
The team have also revealed a throwback uniform and also revealed a new color rush uniform. With the reveal of a color rush uniform it appears that they are here to stay for the foreseeable future. Some fans will have mixed feelings on that, teams had different fortunes with their color rush uniforms last year. Some of them look fantastic and others looked horrific.
On top of uniform updates there has also been some small alterations to the logo. Don’t worry, the Lions are not going all Chargers on you guys however they have removed the black from the logo and changed to a new font which matches the numbers on the uniforms.

Below we have a closer look at the home and away uniforms, the home is the top photo and the away is the second photo underneath.
Following the home and away we also have a look at the color rush uniform and the throwback uniform. Again, color rush is on the top and the throwback uniform is underneath.
The new threads were revealed at Ford Field on Thursday and have a clear focus on the team colors of blue and silver by eliminating black completely. It looks great for the most part but the only one I would really question is the color rush uniform. Looks like the Lions will be one of those teams rocking a horrific color rush next year.
The color rush is used on Thursday night games, last season they were given a solid black uniform but never had to wear it as they didn’t have a Thursday night game. Now they have a solid grey replacing it which looks just as depressing as solid black.
